Roles and responsibilities:

During my time at CMS, I was in charge of designing compelling original pieces, including illustrations and infographics on behalf of the brand's CMS Distributed, which include the following:

  • Samsung

  • Roli 

  • Red Hat (Now IBM)

  • Sphero 

  • Microsoft

As well as my day-to-day tasks as a designer at CMS, I hired and mentored Junior Designers from universities and colleges across the country. This involved setting up development plans for Junior Designers and training them to work on different mediums across a variety of brands. 

 

One of the biggest tasks during my time here was aiding in the company brand re-fresh. The marketing and Design team broke down the old CMS brand and pushed it to the 21st century. I updated the brand guidelines with a brighter, more vibrant colour palette, and available web-friendly font and illustrations which included iconography and patterns to be used on future print brochures and events. 

Other tasks include the following:

  • Refine images, fonts and layouts using graphic design software 

  • Apply typography techniques 

  • Increase user-friendliness in digital products, thus increasing the impact and effectiveness of the project.

  • Maintain brand consistency throughout all our marketing projects to ensure consistency of brand while avoiding blunting the message.

  • Liaise with marketing and design teams to ensure deadlines are met by multi-tasking and being highly proficient in organisation and time management. 

  • Create image assets and guidelines for online communication and campaigns including – animations, gifs, email templates (MailChimp and Dotmailer, landing page designs, social media and web banners) junior graphic designer to ensure the campaign was innovative, wide-reaching and impactful. 

  • Generate case studies

  • Design workflow maps and infographics to better explain complicated processes.
